We wanted to create something that captured some of the magic of the location. Sitting nearly dead center in the bay, Danzante Island dominates many of the ocean views from the property and surrounding areas. There is also a phenomenon that happens during sunset where you get incredible layering of the mountainsides and all of the islands in the background. We decided to capture this time of day in how we illustrated the logo and type. Using overprinting color we telegraph that time of day and use the type to create a horizon line to represent the ocean surrounding this location.
The client needed a site that they could maintain and act as the administrator on. They also had some database integration with SalesForce that needed to happen on the back end. With these needs in mind the solution was to build a semi-custom Wordpress site that allows them to pull in their database and easily administer their content. The result was a site that showcases the location with great photography and video clips while providing simple navigation and information on the development.
Our target audience is constantly on the move and will most likely encounter our brand for the first time while traveling. With that in mind it was imperative that this site be responsive and still represent the location and brand. Catering specifically to our market we took a mobile out approach to designing the site. Key features like carousels and sub-navigation were optimized for the mobile experience.
The last piece was to develop an advertising campaign that used the photography from our shoot along with emotional, bold statements and copy to develop interest and get people to seek out more information.
